Günther Hochhaus is one of the leading researchers in the field of pulmonary drug delivery. His research focuses on assessing the fate of anti-asthma drugs in the body.

Hochhaus’ research has led to computer stimulations aimed at maximizing the drugs’ effects while minimizing side effects.

“Linking drug design approaches with a rational drug delivery has proven to be a powerful tool in streamlining drug development for inhalation drugs,” Hochhaus says.

Hochhaus’ research has helped to make UF a leader in the field of pulmonary drug delivery and evaluation of asthma drugs.

“We want to make sure that inhalation drugs are designed to provide efficient anti-asthmatic effects with the lowest degree of side effects,” says Hochhaus.

In addition to educating graduate students, Hochhaus has authored or co-authored more than 160 publications and is a fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
